what is in a name?

when this site first opened in 2001, it was called two. (period included). i liked that name. it was different than the other f/f shrines, most of which were named after "wind," "green," or some obscure name in japanese. it was short, simple and to the point. i've always, since my first site, strived to come up with an original name for my sites; it's fun, creative and refreshing.

the name could be applied to any couple, really. the period was part of the name itself, to express that there is two of them, they make a couple, period. i thought it was rather clever at the time.

when this site was re-vamped in the summer of 2004, i felt that i could do better with the name. i felt that it didn't apply to fuu/ferio enough, that it was much too broad. many good site names come from songs, so i flipped through my playlist looking for inspiration.

i came up with the theme from the wonderful anime series the vision of escaflowne, "promises not needed." it seemed to fit the couple of fuu and ferio, in that they never really did make any promises about their feelings. they just let destiny work its course, which i think it just lovely. ^.^; besides, it's a wonderful song, and it just plain sounds good as a site name.
