shidou hikaru is pretty much the leader of the magic knights (typical, she is the main character, more or less). she's the oldest of the three, but also the shortest. ^_^ she's very innocent, and i doubt she even notices fuu's intelligence, or if she does, she is the type of person who thinks "oh, yeah. she's smart. so what?" hikaru is very sweet and cute. her magical element is fire, to match her fiery, hyperactive personality. she's very affectionate and refers to her friends as "umi-chan" and "fuu-chan." the most important thing in the world to her is her friends and she would do anything for them. she has three elder brothers (from oldest to youngest) -- satoru, masaru, and kakeru.

umi's family, like fuu's, is quite well-off. umi is an only child and maybe a bit spoiled and sheltered. this comes from the fact that she immediately wanted to go home upon being summoned and basically demanded that clef get them back to tokyo "right now!" she's the most realistic of the three -- fuu and hikaru never act selfish, which doesn't make umi a bad person, it makes her very human, like all of us. plus she is annoyed by mokona, like any normal human should be. XD umi has a somewhat sophisticated look to her, which i like. ^__^ umi's magic deals with water, and everything about her is blue, from her hair and eyes to her clothes. she comes off to a lot of people as having an attitude problem and thinking only "me, me, me" which is definately not true. umi cares very much for her comrades and has risked her life as much as the other two for her friends. she just seems self-centered because hikaru and fuu are very, um, un-self-centered. ^^;

when ferio meets the magic knights, he plans on using them to get himself out of the forest of silence, in which he was lost. he sees fuu's weaknesses and plays on them, but winds up falling completely head-over-heels for her. *^.^* ferio is very good at getting what he wants out of people, but after meeting and falling in love with fuu, he started acting less selfish. he and fuu change each other, for the better, and they have a very tight bond.

aska-sama is the leader of the invading country of fahren in MKR2. she can't be more than ten, but is on her way to being the ruler of her country. she captures fuu (the same incident when chizeta captures umi) and fuu challenges her to an archery match and, of course, wins. ^_^ aska-sama has a bit of a crush on sang-yung, her right-hand man boy, which is the main reason she wanted to become the pillar, so she could be beautiful for him. of course, fuu told her about how the pillar can't be in love and etcetera, and aska-sama changed her mind. aska simply adores fuu after the whole episode. ^_^ their relationship is very sweet: aska sees fuu as a big sister.

kuu is fuu's older sister~ how much older, we aren't told. i'm estimating probably two to four years older, because kuu is also still in school. kuu is mature and smart, and very beautiful. i imagine that fuu lives in her big sister's shadow somewhat, trying to please her parents as much as kuu does. the sisters are very close and kuu gives fuu advice when she's feeling confused or lost. kuu also likes pastries from tokyo tower. ^-^
